Interpreting Your Scores
0 to 5. A SuperTeam’s success is driven largely by highly empowered team members. More than any other RESPECT driver, empowerment relates directly to a team’s ability to effectively and efficiently accomplish their tasks. Teams who score at this level are likely failing to achieve even their basic goals and objectives. Along with being disempowered, your team members are also likely highly disengaged.
6 to 10. An average score on empowerment translates into average performance and engagement. Team members are likely frustrated and feel hamstrung by a lack of resources and autonomy. While team leaders are largely responsible for empowering their team, each team member must take responsibility for empowering himself and support his team members to do the same.
11 to 15. Scores in this range suggest that team members are well positioned to succeed. People have the skills and opportunities to do their best work, and they feel valued and trusted. Team members are actively engaged in finding opportunities to become more educated and to educate other team members. Although a high empowerment score does not guarantee SuperTeam status, it is a necessary condition.
