Interpreting Your Scores
0 to 5. Yours is a highly dysfunctional team with highly frustrated team members—many of which play for TeamMe. Team members view one another more as competitors than as collaborators, and they are concerned with what is best for them. This dysfunction makes effective partnerships outside the team impossible. It may actually be in the best interest of the organization to either disband the team or identify a team leader extremely skilled in dealing with conflict and building a cohesive team.
5 to 10. There are likely cliques in your team. Within each clique there is mutual support, harmony, and respect. Individual loyalty and commitment is greater to these subteams than to the team as a whole. There may be power struggles between the cliques for resources and influence. The team leader may himself be more closely aligned with a particular clique; regardless, the team leader is ineffective in breaking down the barriers between the subgroups to create a single unified team.
11 to 15. As in any partnership, team members bring their own unique personalities, perspectives, and differences of opinion. SuperTeams are characterized by team members who have a strong mutual respect for one another and are willing to sacrifice and compromise for the benefit of one another and the team. If you achieved a score at this level, team members not only partner successfully with one another but they also likely do so with the team leader, sponsor, other departments, and their customers.
